After a while being working in CBD cases on pets I came back to write more about phytocannabinoids.
Today we will learn about another phytocannabinoid found in cannabis plants. Let's remember what are phytocannabinoids.
Phytocannabinoids are cannabinoids that occur in the cannabis plant meanwhile endocannabinoids are produced by mammals, including humans.
There are 2 main phytocannabinoids: CBD and THC.
Today we learn about THC
What is THC?
THC stands for Tetrahydrocannabinol and it is the psychoactive compound of the cannabis plant. Yes, it is the compound that makes you high when you consume marijuana.
But, THC also has the following properties:
It is a strong anti-inflammatory
It is a strong analgesic
It is antiemetic
It is anti-neoplastic
It is a neural modulatory
It is antioxidant
It is a bronchodilatory
It is a muscle relaxant
It is Anti-pruritic
It is good against the neurogenic pain
It is good for cancer treatment
It is good for cachexia ( extreme weight loss and muscle wasting, and can include loss of body fat.)
It is good for the fatigue
It is good for glaucoma
It supress muscle spams
Good for Add/ADHD treatment
As you see THC has not only bad things, but THC has much more benefits than side effects. This compound can be used in humans for recreational and medicinal cannabis in pets when we use cannabis products for medical purposes.
if you want t use THC for medical purposes either for human or pet, please always consult your primary doctor or veterinary, there is also a lot of cases of THC intoxication in pets if THC is not monitored and dosed properly.
in case of THC intoxication in pets please run to the closest emergency pet hospital
